The Integrated Development Environment

4GL Development System

C/SIDE defines five different types of application objects: tables, forms, code units, reports, and dataports. Any application functionality developed in C/SIDE, including the accounting and business management functionality of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, is built on true object-orientation. The object-oriented code eliminates the need for redundancy, resulting in an incredibly compact code base of only 15,000 statements for the entire application. All objects are fully integrated and can easily be modified, extended and reused to make customer-specific solutions or vertical applications. C/SIDE allows users to graphically define and maintain objects while keeping the look, feel and functionality consistent with Microsoft standards.

SQL support

The internal database is completely integrated to Microsoft SQL server and is therefore uniquely suited to the specific tasks required of an enterprise business solution. This total integration ensures a security level of the highest possible standard. The database supports optimistic concurrency using version management: all users can work at the same time with the latest updated, complete version of the data. At the same time, the database is scaleable to support growth and accommodate increased transaction volume and an increased number of users.
