DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Using the Surepath methodology, we first arrive at an agreed objective - what are you the customer trying to achieve? This involves detailed discussions and site visits, at both a pre and post sales stage, to ascertain all of the internal and external influences that have a bearing on the proposed solution.

These typically are 'pains' being experienced with the current solution, changes in business processes/ & procedures, shortfalls in the existing infrastructure, lack of integration of disparate applications and poor management reporting.

Analysis of business needs

What do you want, or expect , your investment in a new business system to achieve?  More than just a wish list, the analysis has to be completely realistic and holistic, taking in the whole of the business, from users through to the Directors. It is our role to balance the inevitable conflicts that occur; specification v performance v cost; timescale v budget, etc to provide a solution that addresses the issues while providing cost effectiveness and return on investment.

Investigation & Assessment of Legacy systems

How much of the existing infrastructure can be used within the proposed solution and what needs to be integrated? Is the existing hardware & core operating software appropriate and up to the job? This stage takes an overall view of the business systems now and moving forward, what additional products and connectors are required to interface everything together?

Scoping of the solution

The creative part of the process - identifying all of the options and requirements and merging this into the best possible solution.  Here we look at all the variables, external factors and constraints (including the budget, timescales and likely impact on the business operations going forward), we then agree the best route forward

Detailed Design

The next part is the translation of the business needs into the development environment, our developers are commercially aware individuals who work closely with the business analysis team, taking the specification requirements from the scoping exercise and translating them into a real business solution.
